French Country

I was surfin' around the other day and stumbled on this magnificent french blog (see bottom of the page for links). It was a beautiful illustration of the french coulture and ambience. I even went as far as to stream in a french radio station. I'm addicted!! But, back to this blog- It displayed these wonderful photos of homes that were decorated in "French Country " style. White, chrisp, and soft. I think I may have found my next style for my house. I have to get rid of all the black stuff first.

Which One Am I ?

Lately, I have had no time to myself, so , I haven't had time to post to my 4 blogs. Now that school is back in and the kids are back their "good" bedtime, I can once again set my sites on my blogs.

But,.... I have to ask myself, "Why do I have 4 blogs?"  Why do I have 4 blogs? I'm not sure there is a simple answer to that question. I do know that each one is different. One is family oriented, one is sassy, one is private and one is to play around with. Does everyone have this problem? I'm sure not. Am I having a problem deciding who I want to be?

It also makes me ask myself, why can't the 4 different sides of me be combined?  Can't we all just get along? LOL!!!  It's going to take a bit for me to get back into the swing of blogging again. Although I have really enjoyed surfing other blogs and finding new ideas, it will be nice to focus on mine for a change.
It's good to be back

What's New

My, my, how things change.... Let's see..... We moved back in March and we are just now getting settled. I'm loving the fact that we have a one story home now. No more running up and down those awful stairs. Laundry room is close by and so are the kids room's.

I've lost 10 lbs and cut my hair short again. Hubby is not happy about it, but he will have to adjust. I't so much cooler.

We have started to eat better- no chips! No Chips alowed in the house. I'm so proud of hubby. He quit eating them a couple of weeks ago and now he says he's lost his taste for them. Yea! I didn't know that you could loose your taste for chips, and it's great to know you can.

Meanwhile, with the help of the Holy Spirit, I have managed to control my frantic hungry kids when we get home from our day by giving them a snack in the car and that holds them over till dinner time, when real food is availabe. Before, they were so hungry that they were raising cain for something to eat when they walked in the door. Now they eat thier snack and go play while I get dinner ready. I actually get to cook! Which is something that I love to do. I am also introducing T&L to better food. T  has a finicky palatte. He is like I was a kid. very picky. L on the other hand is not hard to please. So I feed both kids what I made for dinner, but usually wind up fixing a BP&J to fill him up.

I think what I'm going to do is cronicle our health food journey.  I have found some great healthy eating site with fab reciepies. Most have kid freindly recipies too. So I will be experimenting with some fun new foods that I have never had a desire to eat before. See I'm still a picky eater- and a somewhat unhealthy eater.

I'm trying to eat for health, not eat for taste. But when the two work together!!!

Pottery Barn and The Rest

One of my favorite days is today. It's when all the new magazines come in the mail. Pottery Barn, Decorators Supply, Restoration Hardware, you know what I mean. I get at least 10. All pretty with thier Spring covers and it makes me want to tweet like a little bird to see all the pretty items in their pastel colors.

We all strive to have the "Pottery Barn" home, or at least a cheaper version for some reason. Yes, it's very well pulled together, and every year it seem to get close .....and then they change the major color and bring back the paisley. UGH! I can't keep up.... So this year, I'm just looking!

There is another mag I like. Napa Style. If you've never experienced it you should. They have some beautiful stuff. They have a nice balance of cookware and panty cooking items, then some unique hand carved Italian looking furniture georgous!

Blinking Eyes In Children

About 4 months ago, I noticed my son blinking his eyes more than normal. It looked like he had tired eyes and just itchy. It seemed to get worse during the evening time, so I assumed he was not getting the rest he needed. It was getting pretty bad and my dad noticed as well. He, being a "concerned Grandpa", did a bit of research on the internet and from what he had found, suggested to me that it may be a lack of Magnesium. There is this great article about it. This lady had seen her pediatrician and eye doctor for her son who was the same age as my son- 4 soon to be 5.She had had the same problem and had done extensive research. She found that there are additives in the "children's vitamins" that actual block the absorption of the magnesium. So she tried giving he son some everyday in his yogurt. After about 4 days she saw an improvement.

I tried the pill form and would sprinkle a little in my son's yogart, but after a few days, I saw little change. Then.... I remembered I had some Ovelteen. I fixed him a shake every morning for a week and the blinking went away.

It's a sad thing when the doctors can't figure this out, but then again, I guess they don't know everything.

Apparently it's a pretty common problem.

Craft ideas and decorations on a budget. There is one thing that I enjoy as much as "blogging" and that is surfing other blogs and reading what you have to offer. This blog is like "My File of Cool Things".

Take a look around and I hope you find something that inspires you too.
