The Challenge
My Challenge: To figure out
how to #1: do a weekly menu plan #2: come up with a budget and #3: do it for less than $500.00 a month for a family of 4.That is my goal and I also want to shop only at Whole Foods and Earth Fare.
When I was a full time working mom, this never got accomplished because, well, I said that I didn't have time to sit down and figure it all out. Now that I'm a NON working stay at home mom, I guess it is too overwhelming for me. I mean, there is a lot to do to prepare for grocery shopping. The menus, the lists and the coupons- yes, got to have coupons!
I read all the blogs- love them! They give me great advise- but I have a hard time coming up with a daily meal plan for one day much less a full week. I know I have to get a grip on this.... why does it seem so difficult for me....oooh!.it just came to me...it's the money. I'm scared I'm going to spend too much money on groceries. (isn't that what I'm doing now?) I spend about $125.00 a week for groceries for 4 people. I don't use coupons and I don't watch the sale papers like I should. I guess I need a "Home Econ 101" class.
So folks, here I go. I have a babysitter set up for the day after tomorrow and my fantasy is to go shopping with list and coupons in hand to Whole Foods and come out smelling like a rose. Pray for me. I asked God for the ability to get my family healthy and we are getting there, we just have to budget for it.
